Reclaiming the Rainbow

According to National Geographic, a rainbow is a multicolored arc made by light striking water droplets. A rainbow shows up as a spectrum of light: a band of colors that includes red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet (ROYGBIV for all you science nerds out there). This is what we see on the physical level.

But what does the rainbow mean to you when you see it? Are you left in awe at the beauty of creation as these colors beam across the sky? Or do you think of the flags flown as a symbol of pride, or T-shirts with the rainbow across with the words “Pride for all” stamped across them, or even the parades with rainbow flag on display?

Aren’t these both the same rainbow? It might surprise you, but the answer is no. Why?

The Covenant

The rainbow that God blesses us in the sky has 7 colors. In the Bible, the number 7  symbolizes perfection and completion. We see this in the reality that God created the world in 6 days and on the 7th day he rested. Besides this, the rainbow is also a symbol of God’s covenant with us.

As Genesis 9:12-17 relates,

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth."

Another word for covenant is marriage. Whereas a contract is an exchange of goods, a covenant is an exchange of persons. Through the message of the rainbow, God is saying that He is giving Himself irrevocably to us, even if we turn our backs on Him. He will never flood the world again – fire is still on the table, so watch your back! – and He is with us.

Do you know what image best portrays the “marriage” between God and humanity? The image of man and woman in marriage, and the family that comes naturally from this union. This is the most profound created image of God. Even with the marriage rate going down and divorce found in all segments of civilization, people still go to weddings because there is something profoundly good, true, and beautiful in two people coming together and committing to each other. It is one huge sign – like a rainbow – that reveals that God’s mercy is new, that there is something worthy of pursuing in this life that points to the transcendent reality of life-giving love.

Likewise, it is those husbands and wives in difficult marriages who stick it out, in those families which have challenging financial situations who keep hanging on, and those who who commit to vows of more than 50 years who reveal that marriage is something worth pursuing, promoting, and elevating over every other type of human relationship or institution.

The opposite of the rainbow

Storm clouds

The rainbow proclaimed by those supporting the same-sex agenda has either 5, 6, 8 or more, but never 7. Why is this?

If the number 7 symbolizes perfection (along with the number 3), 6 signifies imperfection. The number 666 (;iterally perfectly imperfect (6 and 3-3s) is that of the Anti-Christ . The message that is being sent by purposely not having the exact number of perfection in same-sex "rainbow" is clear: subvert God's plan for marriage and humanity and replace it with a demonic parody signifying something other that God's love.

The same-sex agenda, which conflates love and sex with the mere pursuit of pleasure with whomever and whenever, no questions asked, is a contradiction – a “speaking against” – the reality of the lifelong love of marriage between man and woman.

Let’s make this clear: the men and women who experience same-sex attraction are inherently good, because they are made in the image of God. They are loved beyond measure, because they are beloved sons and daughters of God. No matter what they do – just like any male or female with opposite-sex attraction – they can’t lose the love of God, because this is who God is: love.

When I refer to the same-sex agenda, I am not commenting about individuals who experience same-sex attraction. The agenda named here is exactly this: A politically-charged imposition that is far from an organic groundswell of support. No, this is being pushed by most Western governments, having the flag planted everywhere – from the White House to the Vatican.

This agenda promotes anything but tolerance, for one must not merely tolerate the activity of those who choose to live same-sex activity, but must support and promote the genital activities of every person, regardless if it is contrary to their God-given dignity. If one goes against this ideology, he risks being dubbed a hater, fined, lose one’s means of financial support, and in some countries like Canada, risks lengthy prison sentences.

To paraphrase Servant of God Fulton J. Sheen, “tolerate people, not necessarily ideas.” Not all ideas are good. Some ideas are downright evil and must be opposed. The agenda is contrary to the dignity of the human person, woke-washing the reality that love, sex, marriage, family and the body have inherently a divinely ordained meaning. Rather, it is Communistic propoganda to do what you want, because at the end of the day, nothing really matters.

Contrary to the common notion of “love is love,” the “love” pushed by the SS Agenda is anything but. Just as toilet water is not drinking water, the “love is love” ideology is not only non-sensical, but also it does not satisfy. The person doing such activities will not be fulfilled, but instead be left with a heart and soul that is arid and empty.

As opposed to the beauty that man & woman reveal in the Sacrament of Marriage, the demonic SS Agenda is ugly because there is nothing true, good and beautiful about it. It is a contortion of man and woman made in the image of God, for God did not create a confused Adam & Eve, neither did he create an Adam & Steve or a Madame & Eve.

God knew exactly what he was doing. God’s plan is perfect, and it is only by surrendering to His plan for our lives will we find the peace and joy we are looking for in romantic relationships. May God give us the eyes to see the Truth and the courage to proclaim this with our words & the way we live our lives.

Our response lies in The Sacred Heart

Although the month of June may currently be occupied by the enemy through the imposition of Alphabet Soup, there is a tremendous reason to hope. On the Catholic calendar, June is the month of the Sacred Heart. This feast dates back to the year 1673, when Sister Margaret Mary Alacoque began receiving visions of Jesus. She belonged to the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary in eastern France. Our Lord appeared to her and revealed ways to venerate His Sacred Heart. Jesus explained his immense love for humanity to her. He appeared with his heart visible outside His chest, on fire, surrounded by a crown of thorns. He told her,

My Sacred Heart is so intense in its love for men, and for you in particular, that not being able to contain within it the flames of its ardent charity, they must be transmitted through all means.

John Paul comments on this reality in his letter on the 100th Anniversary of the consecration of the human race to the Divine Heart of Jesus:

The Saviour’s Heart invites us to return to the Father’s love, which is the source of every authentic love: In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the expiation for our sins (1 Jn 4:10). Jesus ceaselessly receives from the Father, rich in mercy and compassion, the love which he lavishes upon human beings (cf. Eph 2:4; Jas 5:11). His Heart particularly reveals the generosity of God towards sinners. God’s reaction to sin is not to lessen his love, but to expand it into a flow of mercy which becomes the initiative of the Redemption.

This is the feast we are called to celebrate in the month of June. God calls us to experience His love for us and embrace His mercy, staying true to His covenant to us, the same covenant that the rainbow symbolizes. It should not surprise us that the powers-that-be are trying to pull the wool over our eyes, because the deceiver does not want to us encounter the Love that satisfies, nor to believe that God is for us.

If we truly believed that we are worthy of love, we might begin to live this way. Doing so would give hope to others that they have value and worth, regardless of sexual orientation, and that every male and female is called to live their life as a sincere gift of life-giving love.

Reclaim the Rainbow

One practical suggestion to fight back? WEAR THE RAINBOW. Not the counterfeit, but the real, 7-color rainbow.  Wear it on your T-Shirts, purses, hats, etc. Wear it with love and a smile. It is beauty that evangelizes like no other, and the rainbow - one of the greatest images of beauty ever - communicates God's grace like nothing else

We must not allow Satan to subvert a profound sign of God’s beauty. We as Christians should wear the rainbow to remind others of the infinite love God has for us. We are called by God to stand together as men and women made perfectly in God’s likeness and image.

The rainbow is God’s – thus let us take it back! Reclaim the rainbow and wear it with humility, surrendering wholly to God, revealing to the world that God is still very much active and present in the beauty all around us.
